"Jada" is the story of a young woman whose life is thrown into
a spin when her husband is killed in a questionable car accident. Her once prosperous
middle-class lifestyle comes crashing down when the insurance company calls
the accident a suicide and doesn't pay on the policy. Jada and her two teenage
children, Jasmine and Jamal become homeless living in their car until the pastor
of a local church, Rev. Terrence Mayweather comes to their aid. The family finds
shelter in the Eastern Ave. housing projects. Unfortunately, Jamal becomes entangled
in the neighborhood gang. Throughout the ordeal, Jada's faith in God keeps the
family together. An unlikely savior in the person of Simon Williams keeps the
plot interesting. Simon was just released from prison on the strong recommendation
of Rev. Mayweather. Simon is introduced as a mentor to Jamal in an attempt to
steer him away from the gang, but tensions are high between Simon and the head
of the gang, Jason Smith aka "Thunder".
With a "keep you guessing ending", we observe that everything works out when
you have faith in God.
